Pete Townshend still cares about the Who's songs. His conviction was in the way he attacked one guitar after another at Madison Square Garden last night: windmilling through power chords, wrenching out sustained notes and then slicing them off, machine-gunning harsh tremolos and then speeding and squiggling with manic insistence. The Who had something to prove, and he knew it. By Jon Pareles.

Greg Hanek talks about using a blog as an idea repository, other people do it too, and I do it myself. I have a laptop away from the desktop that's on wireless, and it goes where I am. In the late evening, if I spot something that I want to remember for the next day's Scripting News I note it here, and if I remember the next day to look at DHRB, it gets onto my main weblog.

Along those lines, tonight's West Wing rerun was phenomenal. I had seen it before, but the second time around it was so cool. I cried and laughed so many times. Loosened everything up, made me feel realllly good. The closing scene was something else, the background music which comes up to a crescendo is Brothers in Arms by Dire Straights. Tomorrow I'm going to have to look up the lyrics to see how the words fit in with what's happening on stage.

10's Links: "When and if I'm ready, I'll move up to Moveable Type, hire Blogatelle, pay for a server, etc., but for now I enjoy this alternative."

I've seen this too often not to say something. I think Radio has a lot more features than Moveable Type. Sometimes people confuse difficulty with feature richness. MT is designed to run n Unix, which means that it can be difficult for average people, because Unix already presents a high barrier. Radio is designed for Mac and Windows users, not developers (although it has deep features when you lift the hood), so it has to be easy to set up and use to work.
