Jeff's Radio Weblog: Google
Google is simply the best web search engine.
They recently started offering free translation services. I first noticed these links on John Robb's Radio Weblog and thought they were really cool so I did some digging and figured out how to make them work for my site.
To add Google translation links to your Radio Weblog:
- Copy the following code:
<a href="http://translate.google.com/translate?u=<%radio.macros.weblogUrl ()%>&langpair=en%7Cit&hl=it" title="Scattisi qui per leggere questo weblog in italiano (tradotto da Google)">Italiano</a><br>
<a href="http://translate.google.com/translate?u=<%radio.macros.weblogUrl ()%>&langpair=en%7Cpt&hl=pt" title="Estale aqui para ler este weblog no português (traduzido por Google)">Portuguese</a><br>
- Paste it into your template.
Here's what the output looks like:
Deutsch
Español
Français
Italiano
Portuguese
Please note that this assumes that your site is written in English. For translations from other languages you'll have to figure out how to swap around the parameters in the urls. It's not too difficult, but beyond the scope of this document.
