</result> Cool! The slight mods I made to system.verbs.builtins.tcp.httpClient seem to have done the trick. The mods (in emphasis) were:

Update: now behind a proxy: uh-oh! looks like the proxy/firewall is screwing up the XML-RPC call. There's still something screwy about posting to an FTP'ed category home page and it's calendar equivalent. For instance, at the time of this posting http://www.cs.strath.ac.uk/~dunc/weblog/2002/02/02.html and http://www.cs.strath.ac.uk/~dunc/weblog/index.html are different. The home page didn't register the change to the 'second test' message - the one before this one. This is one will/should be posted to both the Home Page, the work category home page, and the calendar (archive) page. Here goes. Update: I wonder if it's related to caching in the browser?
