Russ Lipton Documents Radio
simplex veri sigillum

About

I have dedicated this weblog to the impossibly challenging but fascinating task of documenting Radio. Some poor sucker has to give it a shot - especially for 'the rest of us'.

I won't call us 'dummies'. That gimmick has been played out. There are plenty of doctors, lawyers, firemen, moms and other smart people using Radio. They - we - don't get a buzz from wasting valuable hours of their lives on the bizarre incantations that fascinate those who game-play complex software.

My banner and shield is simplex veri sigillum - the Latin version of 'keep it simple, stupid'.

No, that isn't directed at the rest of us but at those, including me, who have wrapped the world within our technological fantasies in the software biz over the years. Truth be told, while geeks consider me an end-user ... end-users consider me a geek. Userland is a fantasy maker with a passion for designing software 'simplex'. Alas, they are moving so fast they haven't had the time to document their software in the same spirit. I would like to believe I can help bridge the end-user to geek chasm from both ends.

I make no special promises. While I try hard to ensure that everything is accurate, expect many small errors. Help me correct them. This weblog is a labor of love, at least until-or-if I figure out how to make a few pennies from it.

I may drop my work here for a day, a week or the rest of my life on a moment's notice, especially during golf season.

Meanwhile, I hope you will find something here that encourages you to write the Web for yourself.
