| A QA Guy's Radio Weblog Thoughts from Dave Liebreich Whap the Spacebar Reading weblogs in a RSS aggregator (yes, I use Radio UserLand) makes it easy to read lots of stuff. I liken it to the "whap the spacebar" design goal - I want a program that lets me sit back and whap the spacebar and it will display the stuff I want to see. Move the mouse? hit many different keys? Too much effort. The old newsreader NN was great - spend some time configuring it for your preferences, then sit back and pound on that big long key at the bottom of the keyboard. NN then displayed the posts you wanted to see, one by one. Maybe that is the solution. Build into (or around) the browser a combination superbookmark and subscription service. Then whap the spacebar to cycle through all the web sites you want, going straight to the point that changed (or where you last read). |
