Electronic devices based on single molecules. PhysicsWeb Nov 1 2002 12:39PM ET [Moreover - moreover...] This experiment measures the conductance of a single hydrogen atom. Very cool. It would be interesting to take the anti-hydrogen atom that CERN has produced and measure it's properties in such a devise.

Clic Linux for clustered environments. Groupe France [The Register] There is a place for open source projects. The above project creates a super computer using available cheap PCs. A quote near the end of the article is something the BigCo's should worry about.

Clearly, nobody is expecting that this particular Linux development is going to weave a magic wand and get Linux into more enterprises, because it isn't and it doesn't need to. Linux is doing that job for itself very nicely. This project enables people to tackle a problem they previously couldn't have tackled and, because it's open source, they can do it for free.

Linux is gaining ground. It will overtake other operating systems and the big loser will be proprietary systems. Lock-in is over.
