O.K., I have been playing with themes again, and this CSS theme by Bryan Bell seems to work pretty well for my public web page.  It seems to result in unusual formatting on Radio UserLand's private page, however.  The links on the side do not line  up on the left as one would expect.  Instead they insist on taking up the top of the page, and the text window for composing posts and the list of past stories are forced down below.  Workable, but not pretty.
