Scripting News - Whatever Dave & Co did to Weblogs.com today it seems to have cured my problem with erratic updates. :) Yay! Now I enjoy seeing my favorites and when they update from within Radio.

OK, so I don't quite have the Stories feature down yet...it thought I could make the links relative, but it doesn't appear to work that way. Anyways, here's the correct link to the Updating The Radio Glossary I mentioned several posts ago.

WriteTheWeb: What is a k-log?: "There is no other better way to get employee knowledge off the desktop and out of their heads and onto an Intranet where it can be archived, browsed, and searched." [John Robb]
A reply posted at WTW makes a very good point concerning the fact that there's always going to be a certain amount of *noise* in any communication system.
To overcome that, k-logs will perhaps need something of a filtering system that allows for self organizing (ala Slash, Palstic, etc...) I have to admit John has done a pretty good job of convincing me on this matter. Now I just need to sell the idea at work.
>>> "We have tested many of the 802.11b wireless cards on campus [Del Mar College]. Our buildings are mostly brick with aluminum studs in the walls and every other room is filled with computers; it is a harsh environment. In testing the effective range of 802.11b cards, the Cisco wireless card came out on top, but at $40-$60 higher than most of the others. To our surprise, in second place, came the inexpensive NetGear MA401 card. The Cisco and NetGear cards maintained the 11Mbps connection for much greater distances than did either of the Gold or Silver ORiNOCO wireless PC cards - which had a tendency to drop to 5.5 or even 2Mbps at half the distance of the Cisco or NetGear cards." [Prof. Michael P. Harris, CCNA, CCAI, Cisco Networking Academy]
Everything on the planet could beat a Linksys card. Even my grandmother is faster than a Linksys Wi-Fi card....<<< [via C:PIRILLO.EXE]
I was just getting ready to begin researching WiFi setups. I'll definitley take this into considerartion. Last week I got the nod to go ahead and put together a pilot to test the capability of offering WiFi for the public access.
