Well, that last post didn't work very well. I need to make sure that all my < tags are properly converted to entities. Radio Poster can do that for me. Hmm. But that causes a problem, doesn't it. I can't put tags in my post if I do that. Perhaps I can have special characters to indicate bold and italic. In the fullness of time I plan to implement style handling so that you can style the text with bold and italics (I can't show that because the tags are going to be auto-converted to entities so even if I try to put a tag in it isn't going to work). Of course, I can just fix my code so that doesn't happen, but I'm stuck with that behavior for this post.
Oh yea. I wanted to try a link: dollarshort.org

This is my first post using Radio Poster. It doesn't really work yet. I'm kinda hacking it to get this post to work. But if this works then the rest will be a snap.

Apparently, faced with a law suite, Google delisted Operation Clambake for its stand again Scientology. And now, it appears that Google has relisted them after a huge uproar across the web. Pretty cool. What do I think?
You can't handle what I think :)
I'm pretty much against all organized religion. I don't like them. But people must be free to worship. Some need the comforts of organized religion, and that's fine by me. As long as they don't hurt anybody in the process. As we saw last year, people can do some amazingly destructive things and hurt an amazingly large number of people in the name of organized religion. It is truly frightening. But that doesn't change the fact that religious participation must be a freedom we all have.

Radio Poster was originally Radio Composer. I wasn't going to use it to post. The idea was to have a listbox of links and an editfield. You drag over links you want to use in your post and they appear in the links list wiith a name that will be used to identify them in your post. Then you edit your post and put the names of links between '#' characters like this: '#'link'#'. Then, you can copy the text to the clipboard and when you do the links are substituted for the text between '#' and converted into correct <a></a> tags. I've got that part working. But since we now have the Meta Weblog API I can turn Radio Composer into Radio Poster.

I'm hard at work on Radio Poster, an app that will post to Radio. Either locally or remotely. I have most of the basic app finished. I just need to add the http stuff. But I got that working in a separate test, so I'm sure it won't be a huge problem.

This is a weblog. Hopefully, the reason people come here is because they like what I say. The comments, then, become a bonus and to get this bonus you have to do a little extra effort and click the comment link and open the comment window. [Burningbird]
I couldn't agree more. Comments should not become a part of a person's weblog. If they did, then it would stop being that person's weblog and would become a form-style website, much like Slashdot. I think there is a place for weblog-style sites as well as forum-style sites. But these are weblogs, not forums.

Apple also raised the prices on their new iMacs by $100. That makes sense. There are two problems they are trying to solve. First, the price of memory and LCDs has gone up recently and they probably aren't making enough money on each iMac sale. Second, Apple can't meet the demand for the new iMac. This is always the problem that Apple has. It is really quite a big problem. Not meeting demand is just as bad as no demand. Maybe worse because you are pissing potential customers off. By raising the price of the iMac, Apple can reduce deman a bit. Later, when their production is up, they can lower the price.

Today must be the day for updates. Apple released a new version of their iPod software and a new iTunes.

I've been reading MacInTouch for about four years now. It's one of the oldest weblogs and probably the oldest Mac-centric one. But I just noticed it doesn't have perma-links. So I can't link to an individual story directly. Too bad.

Atomic Media's PodNotes for Mac OS X will "add notes to your Contact list in your iPod. PodNotes does this using your clipboard contents for the note itself. Copy the text you want to use as a note in any text application." [MacInTouch]
I had an idea to do something like this. It wouldn't be too hard. You'd just need to understand enough about MP3 tags to make an empty MP3 wth the info in the tags. But I was too lazy, as usual.

Radio 8.0.7 has been released. I just updated. But how come I never saw an announcement for versions 8.0.4, 8.0.5, and 8.0.6? I was using a beta of 8.0.4 before this. Oh well. Looks good. Keep up the good work!
