John Robb: "I don't want my data on a PC anymore, I want it on a portable hard drive/server. Simplify my life. Make my life portable." [Scripting News]
I use a Firewire + USB(2) Lacie 40 Gig portable hard drive for exactly this purpose. Music, docs, software, video, photos go where I go. I just love it. At least I love it with firewire... USB(2) requires me to carry around an extra power supply. The problem that quickly comes up it how to keep your data in sync between all the machines and your portable drive. I haven't seen a good solution to that problem yet.

I created a little app (1.7 mb) to help me read the news gathered by Radio's Aggregator. It uses the Radio XML-RPC interface for the Aggregator (so xml-rpc needs to be on), it uses the .NET Framework (Windows Update is the easiest way to get it) and it uses an API only on Windows 2000 and Windows XP (so no windows 98). It is sorta limited by limitations in the aggregator api (like no titles on items), and it doesn't do everything (like subscribe or unsubscribe to a feed) but it mostly works, so feel free to try it out and comment on it. Here's a screenshot.
