Scott Hanselman is correct that security doesn't end at redmond, but some of his list just won't buy you much. Most of those services are set to manual, and don't get run by default. You have to actually choose to use the services (and be an admin) before they start up. It may feel more secure to not be able do wireless but the code doesn't get loaded or start running till you plug in a wireless card.

It's way too early to look at longhorn at see anything really new. There is a different theme, a cleaner installer and the giant sucking sound of winfs's 150 mb. The project is still mostly architecture and low level stuff rather then end visible features.
