Political correctness run amok. Many of us have seen the picture of three firefighters raising a U.S. flag in the rubble of the WTC. This photo inspired many people, and has become the subject of a statue to be raised in memorial of the firefighters' contributions after the attacks. However, political correctness has reared it's ugly head in the form of racism. [kuro5hin.org]
I tend to agree, but I saw the three guys' lawyer on Fox News tonight, and he brought up some pretty foul stuff. Apparently they're raising a stink over IP and Copyright as applies to the original photographs. I think the controversy over the statue is unfortunate and kinda silly, but it's still an important symbol, whatever the ethnicities of the participants. Let sleeping dogs lie, and raise the monument.

Aaron Swartz: "The future will be made of thousands of small pieces—computers, protocols, programming languages and people—all working together. We need to stop worrying about how to make everyone do the same thing, and instead work on how to connect the (not so) different things that people do together." Right on! I like this kid.

Dave says he's going to hook RU8 up to Manila using the Blogger API. What I want is an easy way to export my Manila site archive into my Radio weblog. The manila servers are so bogged down they're very slow. I'm only going to miss two things about my Manila site: the pricetag ($0) and the URL.

Whew! New Look and Feel, and it only took all day! After the first one was a total failure, I decided to leave it be and go to bed. Of course, I thought I'd just try a few things. And now it's 2 A.M. but I've totally redesigned the weblog. Now, somehow, it feels more like it's mine.
I think I'm addicted. And apparently, I'm not the only one.
Now... must... sleeeeeep..... . . . .
