Dear Universe: Nick says: It has been several months since an entry appeared in these pages. Much has changed since the slate was wiped clean. The void can be scary at times, but if it is allowed to do its work, rebirth does happen. I am glad to say that new beginnings are finally here. A bold new adventure is about to begin. Starting next Monday, June 23, I will be teaching 6th and 7th grade science at a summer camp. For seven weeks I will be at Camp Galileo in Palo Alto, where a stream of some 350 middle-schoolers will flow through my very own classroom. Each week a new batch of 48 kids (in three groups of 16) will appear, and each week I will lead them through one of three dynamic, interesting, hands-on summer camp science units. Yow! Yes, I am a bit nervous. But heck, this is summer camp. There are no tests to give, no grades to assess. It's fun! You may also be aware of the other amazing thing that is about to happen. On July 20, my metaflowers art will appear on the walls at Zappuccino's Cafe in San Carlos. Most of the work of printing and mounting the art is already done, which is a good thing since summer camp is about to start. I doubt I will have much time for art-mounting once camp begins. There will be a reception on Friday July 25, starting at 6PM. Zappuccino's is on Laurel Street at Brittan. I hope to see all of my friends there!
