Why Postcards?
Among the Questions I Wish Were Frequently Asked is this one:
Q: How did your weblog get its name?
A: Postcards from the Cutting Edge was the working title of a book I wrote about the experience of getting my MBA. In honesty I must say I only half-wrote it. About 150 pages of typescript await the day I have time to finish it.
Last weekend, when I discovered no-hassle blogging a la Radio, one of my first thoughts was, "I wish I'd had this when I was in school and trying to write Postcards." If I'd had even a tiny readership (a faithful mom and four sibs, e.g.) and Radio, the book would have been written by the day after graduation.
Here's a sample from the original Postcards. It's a note about the admissions process. About those nasty essays. About a nasty school I didn't go to.
