Google Earth Touring
Google Earth Touring facilitates collaborative, realtime exploration of Google Earth. As the “tour guide” navigates, “tourists” will automatically follow along. Try it out!
This was a fun little project to implement, thanks to danbri floating such a cool idea.

Disasters Trigger Self Organization of Geo Tech
The energy of this storm is directed into concentrated hacking and collaborations. Linking together available means in a flurry of utility. Just search for “katrina” on the google earth bbs. A bunch of links here also. Feels similar to the rush of activity after the tsunami last year .. hordes of people remote to the event realize the potential of detailed, distributed, current geographic data. Post event, the hacking subsides, with a bit more geotech structure evident, and lots more minds tuned in. Some may see this as disasterporn. To me, it’s very PlaNetwork, the lashings of a planet in transformation sparking intelligence and conciousness in counterbalance to ecological and atmospheric upheaval.
Red Cross is always good to direct monetary energy.
