You can dramatically improve your talents at the grill, because Everything You Thought You Knew About Grilling Is Wrong. If nothing else, you need to forget that anybody ever told you were should only flip the food once. Flip early, and flip often, and you'll be a much better cook because of it. 10:13:21 PM |

Western Nations Urge Citizens to Leave India . The State Department advised Americans to leave. "Tensions have risen to serious levels and the risk of intensified military hostilities between India and Pakistan cannot be ruled out," it said in a travel warning. 3:27:58 PM |

I must be particularly dense today. First I have a tough time seeing the value in adding a LINK tag to my template (it benefits the machines, young padawan, not the humans), then I notice John Robb's site talking about a replacement for PowerPoint. Maybe I just know PowerPoint a little too well to see how this is an improvement. Or maybe the main benefit isn't that it does
some of the same stuff that PowerPoint already does, but, simply, that it is
not PowerPoint. If I didn't have the software, or access to the
software, then this seems to be a decent alternative. But again with the
disconnect: the only people (aside from myself, though I use it for other things) that actually
seem to like PowerPoint can be found in Corporate America. Last time
I checked, there's no shortage of Office users there. |

I wish there were snapshots of archived pages, so you could see how they'd been modified throughout the day. Perhaps when I get home, my news aggregator will show the variations in Mark's site as more and more people began implementing ideas found there. Refreshing diveintomark every half hour or so this morning is probably as close as it gets to actually watching somebody think. If you get excited about change, technology, smart people, collaboration, and tipping points, it probably doesn't get much better than this. And, yes, I'll be making the necessary changes to my template later tonight. Just can't do it remotely.
Update: done. Made even easier by a new macro for Radio. Good thing I had to wait all day before I could update my template. The life cycle from idea to implementation was amazingly short. |
