Too nice a day to work on updating style sheets. Absolutely love the inflatable backyard pool. The girls spend so much time outside on weekends lately that we've been able to get to all the yard work that you push off for some other time (at least in our case, that pretty much means anything except mowing the lawn). Every hedge has been trimmed, even a particularly unruly patch that hadn't been touched in maybe five years. Today was cutting back a few trees. Great stuff.

Okay, okay, so I started messing around with CSS already. Plunked HTML: The Complete Reference down on my desk, opened up Chapter 10, and went to work with an empty document in Notepad.

It's just a first pass, but I figured what the hell. This is a work in progress, after all. Shouldn't be any tables except for the one Radio creates for the calendar. Fonts should all resize from smallest to largest without blowing things up, and at the same time, hopefully, you can shrink your browser width fairly far before the body text starts getting lost behind my navigation links.

In theory, this should also allow me to much more easily flip-flop layout, fonts, colors, etc. Still remaining:

  • figuring out style-specific link attributes
  • making my OPML-based blogroll (right) use bullets for improved legibility
  • create my own images -- instead of using those provided by Joe's template -- for the day-level and item-level permalinks
Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions?
