Owen on top of the world. Yea, all I got to say is wow! This kid is awesome!

England's goal rush: On a lighter note, I missed probably the best game of the year, or maybe the last 2 years? England at Germany qualifier. England bashes them 5-1 behind a hat trick from Michael Owen. It wasn't showing on cable but my football manager had bought it on satellite. Great! If only I had known! Perhaps I should call the pub ahead of the game next time. It would be a nice place to have lunch, beer and ball.

ugh...what a disappointing Saturday. The US fell to Honduras 3-2 at home. An exciting game, but a big let down. I guess I was wrong about the depth of our team. We really need guys like Reyna, Razov, McBride, Mathis and Wolff to get healthy! Those guys make up half the team that was there this spring kicking ass. The team we saw this Saturday was not that team, at least offensively. Sure, Stewart scored 2 goals, but should not be asked to carry the team! I don't think anyone else is asking more of him. With all 5 of those players back, I think we could have blown Honduras out of the water. And why was the defense so damned slow this week? They are never that slow. Something should be done there. Cherundolo had his chance and impressed at times. But, this game proves he is not ready. Bring in Llamosa, a very solid back!

So, is Dave right? Is there are a conspiracy with FlangyNews? Hmm...True, this guy works for Microsoft, but up until his site went down, I think he had some credibility with developers. At least his rants were interesting reads. But, now I wonder: Are we overly paranoid or are we once bitten twice shy? To quote the discussion: "If Microsoft is letting him keep his job and still write the site, then it must be controlled." I'm not sure how I feel about it. But, I certainly know that my opinion has now been affected. I sure don't see any comments about how work sucks on his page recently. But, maybe I need to give it more time. I like to consider people innocent until proven guilty, but I don't think anyone likes to be taken either ;-)
