Today we were going to go out driving randomly in the mountains, since it's Good Friday and according to Ur-Umi, "Nothing is open".

In the morning, Heike, a distant relation, came by and we were stuck for awhile. I disappeared with the kids for awhile. We walked down the block and back, then past the house to the canal. No swans, only two ducks.

Picked up a Maxi Nuss candy box which, interestingly, used the UPC bar code as part of the packaging design.

Finally got on our way in the early afternoon; headed out of town after some theatrics regarding sandwiches and where we'd eat and so forth.

Drove south and west, toward the Wendelstein. Passed many open restaurants. Wound through some barely-two-lane mountain roads, totally unnerving Katie, then stopped at the wasserfall at Feuringer Tatzlwurm and had lunch. Jack was mad; he didn't want lunch. He's still dealing with this not being Katie's parents, as he had thought.

Eventually had lunch, delicious as usual.

Drove on in search of a park, but didn't find one, so we made our way home. Walked around and found a park for the kids to play at, then home for dinner.

More pictures before dinner; showed Umi and Opa pictures of Heike's visit, which still amazed them.

White asparagus with eggs, cheese, & butter. Umi deigned to let me prepare the mashed potatoes, and only rolled her eyes a little here and there as I used the wrong cup and so forth.

Cleanup after dinner, "Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders", and off to bed.

Tomorrow, errands and a Mërchen Familienpark.
