The Nightlight Series consists of silver-gelatin images in various states of clarity, printed on Plexiglas tiles that are lighted from the edge with tiny, filtered, fluorescent lamps. Each tile is set in an 11x14 shadowbox style frame with a matte black border. The image itself is six inches by six inches and is protected from the elements by an extremely thin, yet durable layer of urethane. The entire piece is made with low acid materials and will last for many decades without fading, yellowing or decomposing. A small power converter plugs into the wall and is connected by a thin, six foot cord. The power supply has five brightness settings and there is an on/off switch on the piece itself.

The series represents the cycle of time and time's relationship to the materials with which our world is made. Each piece is set onto a plate of a particular metal; each metal carries the essence of a particular moment in time through it's texture, form and color. Each piece is handmade and one of a kind. Ideally, these pieces are to be used as night lights in rooms which are designed to take advantage of a particular time of day in nicely made home. They are priced accordingly.

Here are the current four pieces of this series, shown in medium ambient light (maximise the window, scroll down then to the right.) There is more than one megabyte of images here, so please give it enough time to load.:
