NY Times: "Companies are embracing the potential of networked computing to let workers share their knowledge more efficiently as they nurture new ideas, new products and new ways to digitally automate all sorts of tasks." An oft-repeated theme here on Scripting News, and one you'll hear in the NerdTV interview that's coming next Tuesday. First we'll get all the information you could ever want, available to you instantly, and then it'll turn out that's the less important thing, because in order to get there, we had to learn how to really work together. The Times even uses "working together" in the headline of this piece. My chin dropped to the floor as I read this piece. [Scripting News]

ACPA Course on ePortfolios and Student Affairs. I'm teaching a brief online course on eportfolios and student affairs for ACPA February 6-24. There's now a basic course description on the ACPA site. I'd welcome suggestions of activities, readings, and guest speakers. New Century College has begun working with University Life (Mason's student affairs operation) to create portfolio experiences that bridge between student and academic affairs. This course will be an opportunity to share and further develop some of the ideas that are emerging from that collaboration. It's also likely the third cohort of the National Coalition will be supported by NASPA and will focus on examining this sort of bridging on a national scale.
