CNNMoney.com: Smartest Technology: RSS < 11:58:34 AM>.

At long last, really simple syndication, or RSS, came into its own. Developed by Silicon Valley technologist Dave Winer, RSS makes it easy for popular sites such as CNN, Reuters, and Yahoo -- and tens of thousands of bloggers -- to distribute online text, audio, and video worldwide. RSS has been around since 1997, but it got a big boost in the past year as Microsoft announced plans to integrate it into Windows, letting RSS do for online media what the Web did for the Internet.

Congratulations Dave.

Squib, like Radio but different < 10:53:39 AM>.

Matt Mower: "Squib is a blogging tool influenced by Radio Userland. Like Radio, Squib is a local app that publishes a static site to a Radio Community Server. Unlike Radio, Squib is written using Rails, is stable & non-funky, and uses SQL for data storage."

What's happening here? Steve Kirks is with Userland, no?

Radio to detect when application folder has been moved or renamed < 10:52:41 AM>.

This is something that has plagued Radio users for years. If you move Radio to a different folder or rename the folder Radio resides in, all hell breaks loose. Andy Fragen wrote a script called myFixFilePathsAndAddresses to handle this situation but now UserLand is going to be finishing a set of special startup-code for Radio, which will detect when the application folder has been moved or renamed.

Good stuff. This particular problem is in my face right now following the melt down of my hard drive last week.
