March 2003

The quickbuild wings and fuselage arrive.   March 5, 2003

Here is the first view of the big boxes on the truck. Looks like the wings rode laying down rather than standing on the long edge. I sure hope that is OK. I probably should have looked further into the boxes before the truck driver pulled away. We tried to pry it open but the box is well put together with screws.

Despite all the worry and wondering, two forklifts made short work of getting the boxes out of the truck and down to the ground. The first got on the end and pulled the box most of the way out of the truck. The second was positioned to pick the box up from the side and held it while the truck pulled away. A couple of standard moving dollies under the big box made it easy to roll into the storage building.

Over the weekend we are working hard to get the garage cleaned out.

Filled the trash containers to overflowing and the storage box to the door.

So There is it is .. as clear and open as it is going to get ...

And we are ready to begin ... Page ONE

Here comes the quickbuild components on the truck from the moving company. Once again these guys make short work of moving the (to me) huge box.

Into the driveway and the garage.

Here are pictures of the wings still in the box. Notice how the support block has broken. There does not seem to be any corresponding damage. It is not clear to me how the box got broken that way.

This picture shows the "rubbing" pattern left on the skin where it was in contact with the plastic foam in the box.
