George W. Bush's September 11 speech

My fellow Americans, I come to you today -- on this day of remembrance -- to focus your attention on the war on Iraq. We must not squander this opportunity to use patriotic fervor to silence any voices of dissent.

We must ask ourselves, why would anyone launch those cowardly sneak attacks on a gentle, benevolent nation like ours. Clearly the answer is that they hate our freedoms. What other motivation could they have?

Some have suggested they might be retaliating for our support of Israel's oppression of, and campaign of terror and assassination against the Palestinians. Some have suggested our disproportionate consumption of the world's resources might be to blame. Some have suggested that our willingness to kill brown-skins outright, or leave them to die of hunger and disease is to blame, or our support of repressive regimes.

My fellow Americans, as your leader, I can tell you these are vile lies, spewed from the mouths of America-hating Liberals. For I have looked into the hearts of the Evil-Doers, and I have seen that the real problem is that they hate our freedoms.

America-hating liberals constantly whine that we should eliminate the root causes of terrorism. In fact, we've been doing just that. The Bill of Rights -- a commie manifesto if there ever was one -- is in tatters. Freedom from unreasonable search and seizure: gone. Freedom of speech: [laughter] we're nearly there. "Right" to a lawyer, or to know what charges are made against you: disappeared like Bin Laden himself.

My fellow Americans, three thousand of our loved-ones were killed without warning one year ago today. I come to you today to tell you that vengeance has been ours. We have killed far more than 3,000 innocent civilians in Afghanistan. And we've only begun. We've left enough unexploded mines and cluster bombs in that country that tens of thousands of children and goat herders will have their legs blown off, over the next five years.

But should we, as Christians, be satisfied with this level of vengeance?

Clearly, the answer is no. As good, Christian Americans, we must insist on greater vengeance. We must bomb Iraq back to the stone age. And we must do it in a way that gives Republicans control of the Congress this November.

In time of war, there can be no excuse for questioning the President of these good, Christian, United States. We must stand united. And I say vote for Republicans, or we'll have to throw your vote out. And remember: we know where you live.

So never forget September 11; never question the need to bomb brown-skins; never tolerate liberal lies. God Bless our Holy Warriors who protect our Homeland and bring Jesus Christ's own vengeance on terrorists of other races and religions. And God Bless America.
