Script Timer 2.0 released
Apps & More Software Design, Inc. has announced the release of version 2.0 of Script Timer, an AppleScript and application scheduling product for Mac OS X, Version 10.1 and Jaguar. New features for version 2.0 include the following:

Developed by Marc Liyanage, TestXSLT is a small, AppleScriptable Cocoa application which allows users to experiment with and learn XSLT and edit XML files on Mac OS X. Source code is available for download and online browsing. Also updated is Track Names to Word Caps, which capitalizes the first letter of each word in selected track names. This version addresses a bug that might erase some punctuation marks like parentheses and exclaimation points.

Change Startup Disk 1.6.1
Change Startup Disk is an AppleScript script that allows the user to bypass the OS X System Preferences to change the startup disk. Release notes: Added German versions of all scripts, courtesty of Alfonso "Hcktik" Tavernier. CSD-Original script should better handle hard drives that have been renamed. Error-check routines for both scripts to handle a multiple of issues. Dialog box at end of both scripts will give up after 6 seconds and restart the computer into OS 9. Hopefully the Deluxe version feels more streamlined.

Internet Enabled Disk Image scripts
These OS X scripts, when run via Ranchero's Big Cat contextual script menu, will set the 'internet enable' flag of selected disk image (.dmg) files to yes or no. Droplets which perform the same tasks are also included. Warning: I've received a report that these scripts will corrupt disk images with apostrophes in the name. The issue is currently under investigation but I suspect that the use of "quoted form of posix path" is at the heart of the problem. Update: I can't reproduce the bug but caution should be exercised nonetheless.

Trinfinity Software: Scripts for iTunes
Trinfinity has released three new open source scripts for iTunes users. The scripts require iTunes 2.0.3 or later and work with OS 9 and OS X.
'Capitalize Words In Tags' capitalizes the first letter of each word in the song name, artist, and album tags. It also makes all other characters in the tags lowercase.
'Extract Artist From Song Name' removes the artist name from the song name tag and puts it into the artist tag. It also removes leading and trailing spaces from both the song name tag and the artist tag.
'Remove Track Number from Song Name' removes the track number, along with spaces and dashes, from the song name.

NetNewsWire via Bluetooth
Someone has asked for a script that would allow them to simulate pressing the down arrow or space bar in NetNewsWire so that they could read through the feeds via a Bluetooth capable phone using Clicker. I don't have an enabled phone to test with but this script appears to do the job. If someone who has all of the necessary elements would like to test it, I'd appreciate feedback. It requires GUI Scripting beta.

Pet Peeve: Price check on lane 4 please
When you are shopping for groceries, do you want to go all the way to the checkout lane to learn the price of each item so that you can decide whether or not to place it in your cart? I don't think so! The price should be prominently displayed with the product.
If you are using a web site to promote your ware, please consider the inclusion of the price on the product's main web page. If I know up front that something is not within my budget, there's no point in wasting my time, and your bandwidth, by wading through several pages of product info. Forcing me to use the "Buy" button to discover the price only serves to irritate me, drive me away, and clutter my browser's cookie file. Making it easy for potential customers to make an informed decision might just encourage them to explore all that you have to offer and/or come back later when they can afford to make the register ring.

Script Editor: Compiled Script vs. compiled script

Back up user prefs 2.3.6
This script can make backups of, and then restore, a user's Preferences folder and browser preferences which are stored outside of the Preferences folder. Release notes: Restore the Preferences folder only. Restore the Safari, Mozilla, Chimera, and/or OmniWeb browser files only. Restore both the Preferences folder and the browser files.
