Scoble on the Invisible Influencers
Scoble writes about how his communication with what he calls the invisible influencers boosted the number of hits on a particular Channel 9 video from a norm of 1000 to 7000. His post seems to imply that it was all due to an email and an IM from him to one of these people:
"One IM. One email. 7000 people show up. All in 24 hours or so."
Perhaps this was a contributing factor but I don't think that you can give all the credit for what happened to this. I think the biggest factor was that it was a compelling post - the GM of a product group demonstrating the features of his (IMO, way cool) product. That's why I linked to that one post (not that I have any great influence) even though I eagerly view all the Channel 9 videos. And I'm not on Robert's email or IM list.
