Tutorial: Using FrontPage with Radio Weblogs

Using Microsoft FrontPage with your Radio Weblog

As promised, I've finally gotten around to writing a few tutorials on how to use FrontPage with your Radio Weblog. I was going to wait until I had finished them all but I decided to start posting them as I went for those of you that wanted to get started right away.

Note: These tutorials were created using FrontPage 2000 but are substantially the same for people using FrontPage 2002.

Since it's important that you understand how traditional web sites created with FrontPage differ from Radio Weblogs I recommend that you read through the entire tutorial from the beginning rather than skipping ahead to a section that sounds more interesting.  If you DO decide to skip ahead then here's a tip.  Do not open the WWW folder directly in FrontPage.  I'll explain why later.

By the way, all of these tutorials were created solely using FrontPage and then upstreamed to my Weblog.  At no time did I use the Radio interface and no electrons were harmed in the writing of these articles.

Before I begin let me say that some of these tutorials are not for the faint of heart.  The first two times I tried using FrontPage to work on my Weblog I ended up trashing it.  Fortunately I kept backups.  I think the reason this happened is because after developing so many web sites and working with FrontPage for years I've developed a certain "mindset".  That mindset is that all web sites are basically the same.  They have folders and files that can all be updated or manipulated (with certain exceptions of course).  At the very least they all contain HTML files.  Right?  Read on.
