The ghosts of liberals yet to run? DC march, Oct. 26

Did anyone notice that it took NPR five days to correct crowd estimates for the DC anti-war march? On the day of the march, they said that crowds had been estimated at 10,000. On the following Thursday evening, they apologized for the fact that there had apparently been ten times as many people at the march as they had reported.

Perfectly understandable, Ten thousand people, one hundred thousand: how could one possibly notice the difference?

OK. My pod's come ashore. And I've got the OSX version of Radio. So I'll try to make up for the long months of silence...in time.

The pod, by the way, is on exhibit at the Smack Mellon Studios in Dumbo, Brooklyn. It's by a collective called the "Halflifers" and is the centerpiece of a show called "The Omega Manual." If you go, get one of the Heston postcards stacked by the front door. And look in the back gallery to see the Jennifer and Kevin McCoy's vitrines stuffed to the gills with the food, drink and ambience enhances that pop stars demand in their performance riders. (The installation was based on actual riders from J-Lo, Nine Inch Nails and Gun And Roses, also included in the vitrines).
