Use of electronic records and electronic signatures

parties have to agree to use electronic signatures (but circumstances can reveal such intent)

this Chapter shall be construed to faciliate electronic transactions

Revision of La Evidence Code 1001

HB 1808 revised this provision to allow for fact that digital files stored on handheld devices or any portable storage device can be considered "originals" for purposes of the Evidence Code. The provision already recognized that such files stored on computers could be "orignials."
