In the evening, I met Date-kun, and we went to the American Base in Kure. There was a band, and so we'd been advised to go early; however, turning up at 5.30 turned out to be just a little too early... Nevertheless, it was fun, although I think we both felt the effects of the Grolsch we were drinking. It was perhaps a good job they sold out halfway through the evening! Afterwards, we finished off with a quick bowl of ramen at one of the yatai, and then went to the port so that I could get the final ferry. The only problem was that we'd left the base just a little too early, leaving us with a whole hour to kill at the port. I think we both thought we wanted ramen more we actually did...

Spent most of the day pretending to correct my speech for Monday. I prefer working at home, but there were just too many distractions... Not to mention the fact that it was hot, so I wanted to work in my washitsu with the air-conditioning on, but that meant that I had to put the computer on the floor, so I couldn't type very well, so I went back into my main room, but it was too hot, so I went back into the washitsu. And so on... Needless to say, I didn't get anywhere near finished.
