Got an email from Takedomi-kun to say he was tired.
Well, what do you expect if you've run up and down a 400-metre mountain twice? Rather him than me...

Mind you, sitting at my computer all day doesn't mean I had a profitable day, at least not speech-wise. In fact, I think that the very fact that I had intended to think about my speech is precisely why I made no progress whatsoever. To be honest, I didn't even begin to think about what I was going to say...

Today was an absolutely glorious day. A day when the sun makes the very air gleam, when the sky is cloudless and highlighter-pen-blue, a day when every mikan, every leaf on every tree, positively glitters, a day when all the reds and greens of the mountainsides are almost preternaturally vivid. In short, a day when just being outside is sheer pleasure.
Which is why I spent nearly all of the day in front of my computer...

However, although it's not a question of having to do this, I do want to spend at least a little time thinking about the speech I'm due to give on Friday to the Rotary Club. I've decided on a title- in English it's something along the lines of 'As a small town CIR...'- and, given that it's only going to be about 20 minutes long, I'm going to try doing it without writing the whole thing out (in other words, with just notes)- but I still need to write an ordered list of everything I want to say. Ideally, I'll be able to get the audience to ask questions during my talk, which will make it more of a discussion than an actual speech.

How pleasant to be able to sleep for as long as I want! For the first time in ages, I have absolutely nothing- not one thing- that I have to do today. A great feeling.
