Mercury News | 12/15/2002 | HP's enterprise unit strives for profitability Hewlett-Packard has managed to absorb Compaq Computer, cut costs heavily and grow its revenue despite stiff competition. But now it has to move on to the tougher task of making its sick divisions profitable.

And among those, the biggest headache is the company's enterprise systems group, which sells computer servers and data storage to big corporations. via Corante

Why is this division so hard to manage? I have absolutely no contact with anyone in the Enterprise group... I only know what I read in the press.

Of all the crown jewels of HP (with Compaq) is our servers. HP's Superdome servers compete head on with Sun's and IBM's big iron. We've got the platform. Where's the beef?
