Honeymoon - Day One

Date: January 11, 2002
Place: Ithaca, NY -> Miami, Florida

So we get up early to catch a flight out of Ithaca.  We find out that the flight times have shifted a bit - but it looks like we'll be fine.  So we're off to the airport.

We wait awhile at the airport and catch our flight from Ithaca to Pittsburgh.  On the plane, it looks like time is getting tight... we have a conneting flight to catch.. are we going to make it????

So we finally land in Pittsburgh at 11:25am - and our next flight is supposed to leave at 11:30!!! AAAHHH!!! We (literally) race across the airport from terminal to terminal, trying to catch that plane!  We have just 5 minutes before it leaves the gate.

Ugh - we make it and the plane is still there! We celebrate (and catch our breath) in line as we wait to board the plane.  We can't believe we got there on time, but we are so grateful fate was on our side!

When we arrive at the Miami airport, Wendy and Charlie (emily's cousin and her husband) pick us up.  So with Wendy and Charlie, we stop by the Biltmore Hotel to see where they had their wedding.  We spent about 5-10 minutes there, but you could see how beautiful it is!!

We then went to our hotel where we checked in and dropped off our suitcases.  Then we headed to Coconut Grove to have dinner together.  It was a nice meal and we walked around a bit after to look at the shops.  Then they dropped us off at our hotel and said goodbye.  emily and I then went to the room to relax and catch up on our sleep.  It was a good day.
