Breaking update on the Anderson Jury's question:
HOUSTON (CBS.MW) -- The judge in the Andersen case ruled in favor of the prosecution Friday when she told jurors they didn't need to agree that the same person committed a crime to convict, according to reports. CBSMarketwatch
Context: In view of certain recent preoccupations with ID:
...the jurors [in the criminal document shredding case of Arthur Andersen LLP] Thursday morning asked the judge to clarify a crucial point: Do they all need to agree on the identity of at least one Andersen partner or employee who acted corruptly? Or can they convict the firm even if various jurors disagree on which Andersen people acted corruptly?
The question appeared to come out of left field in the six-week-old trial, surprising defense attorneys and prosecutors alike, who said they hadn't anticipated the jury's confusion on the issue. WSJ/MSNBC
Only blinkered lawyers could fail to anticipate this simple question from jurors, who merely want to know: What is a corporation, and how is it accountable?
