it's 11:30p and i just ate dinner. after lab today i had a horrible headache so i came home and did stuff online: paid bills, checked student loans, etc. which actually took some time. i went back to the lab but it was already 8p and i only stayed for an hour cause i wanted to see queer as folk. it's on showtime so i never got to see it except when nathan gave me a tape. it's a pretty good show if you're into penises.

i have a microanatomy test friday so i went to the lab to look at laser disc images and slides. i have lots more to do. sometimes it's hard to tell connective tissue from muscle.

after queer as folk i went running for 33 min. just a quick one but i wanted to get something in. rob and jenn sent me the rest of my mp3 player stuff so i could recharge the batteries. it's the first time i've run w/ music since i've been here. it makes me run faster.

then i lifted legs and did stomach stuff. took a shower and made dinner: fake chicken nuggets (6) w/ barbecue sauce and some baked tostitos w/ melted shredded cheese on top, 2 diet cokes and a few lowfat graham crackers. now it's bedtime and i have a full stomach. oh well i was hungry. my brain needs the glucose anyway i've learned.

don't forget to watch the best show on tv w/ the best superhero, smallville. it's starting up again september 24th and it even takes place in my new state of kansas.

goodnight everybody

well i'm pissed. i just took my mini-exam on glycolysis and the TCA cycle. yes it was a mini-exam, 3 pages, short and sweet, 60 points. too bad i got about 10 points off. i knew the hard stuff: all 10 reactions in detail of glycolysis and all 8 reactions in detail of the TCA cycle. i studied that all day yesterday. problem was the other stuff on there that i didn't pay too much attention to. the third page had 5 multiple choice questions on it and i think i got 4 out of 5 WRONG! the choices sucked: there'd be an a. and b. and c. that were one word answers (fructose, galactose, etc.) but d. would be 2 of the above e. all of the above and f. none of the above. so that really screwed me. i'm so pissed! i have to swear: shit! i'll just have to do well on the other exams and make up points. gotta eat lunch

well this is going to be short. i haven't checked in all weekend. haven't felt like it. i have an exam tomorrow, or as dr. mitchell is calling it, a mini exam, even though it's horrendous material. i didn't study much all week since we didn't have a friday exam so i put it off until the weekend. i ended up going out friday night. wasn't too much fun; not enough alcohol was consumed by me.

saturday i slept in, did some studying/drawing glucose, fructose, sucrose and the 20 amino acids. i don't think i went outside all day enough though it was really nice out. IM'd rob reed and jenn for a couple hours talking about all kinds of stuff (one of them being my roommates recently started sleeping together ugh!) watched some movies: the big hit and valentine. didn't go out last night.

got up really late today. did some studying, learning glycolysis and memorizing the 10 reactions:reactants, products, enzymes. jonathan took me out since i hadn't been outside all day yesterday or at this point today. we went to the mall. we got a splitter so now i can watch tv and do computer stuff online. we looked at bigger refrigerators; can't believe they cost $1000+. went to candyopolis and got lots of good candy which is about gone. got a plain pretzel, no butter or salt, w/ a side of cheddar cheese. tried a couple pairs of pants on at the gap. they were only $19.99 each and i wanted to make sure size 8 still fit. i don't like how they're making them though. everything is so low-rise. i put them on and even standing up my underwear shows. you can't sit down in them. so they both fit. actually the waist was a little loose but the butt and thighs was fitting. i didn't get anything though.

then we went to the grocery. this time 24 packs of diet coke were buy 2 get 1 free so now i have 72 cans of soda minus the 2 i already drank tonite. i didn't eat dinner tonite cause i ate too much candy.

then i studied all night til now. from 7-9:30p i studied while watching cape fear. then i turned the tv off.

also i spent about 15 min. lifting upper body: bench press and dumbbells. my goal is to bench 140 lbs at least or at most (i don't care which) once, which is my weight right now. it'll be tough but i want to try.

not much else to say. oh today was the first day i think rich didn't call me so i'm kinda upset. we've said before we don't have to talk everyday but we have been so i don't like that he didn't call today.

anyway, goodnight. think good smart things tomorrow at 11a central time for my physiology mini test about metabolism.

It's better to burp and bear the shame than not to burp and bear the pain.

Grandpa Martin, RIP

Dr. Wally Cash, DVM

Well, I want to try everything in life.

Heather Rose Martin, CFG (crazy freak girl)

In the book of life there's only two women, big ol' good ones and good ol' big ones.

Ice Cube, HipHopper

I'd rather have a terrorist standing next to me than a Frenchman. (~15 min. later) Oh, I forgot about that, that's another reason I don't like the French, they eat horses.

Dr. Dee Griffin, DVM

Think about it. Sometimes people are just destined, destined to do, what they do. And that's what it is. Now everybody dance.

Justin Timberlake, Hottie!

Even in medicine, though it is easy to know what honey, wine and hellebore, cautery and surgery are, to know how and to whom and when to apply them so as to effect a cure is no less an undertaking than to be a [veterinarian].

Aristotle, 384-322 BC

Going to Kansas for Vet School is like going to the Special Olympics to play chess.

RobReed, BoyGenius

Now you can either stand around here eatin' jambalaya or you can come upstairs and eat my ass!
