guess what everybody?? i'm done w/ my first semester at vet school. ooh baby!!! i just took my gross anatomy final and based on my calculations i needed a 145/200 to keep my B and i think i got at least a 154. i won't know for sure until tomorrow since Dr. Weiss will email grades then.

as for microanatomy, i needed a 109/150 to keep my A so you could say i wasn't too worried about it. turns out i should have been cause the final was hard. i ended up getting a 107 but since the class didn't do too well on the final we were spotted 6 points bringing me up to 113 and keeping my A in the class.

physiology i'm pretty sure i got a B.

rob reed wants me to write up a whole thing about lessons i've learned in vet school from the first semester. that'll take some thought and time to sit down and write it all. john colbert wants me to reflect i think on living in manhattan for the last few months. i'm afraid he wouldn't have survived.

i tried out cleo's new anti-bark shock collar this afternoon. i feel really bad cause she'll howl and then make a cry noise or just cut the howl short. hopefully it doesn't take too long for her to get the hint.

i took jonathan out for a run and then i went to the rec to finish. i did about 8 miles then came home to shower and then feel asleep since i had only gotten a couple hours last night. so i'm up now writing this.

i went to the lab yesterday at 1p to study for gross and then came home about 6p to eat and then back by 7p and stayed until 5:10a. it was pretty tough to put in those hours but i had no choice if i wanted to try and save my B. i was the last to leave the lab. there were a few who stayed until about 4a.

i ate like such a pig while i was there. WARNING: very gross description ahead. the first time i hit the vending machines i got some tato skins and hot tamales and maybe a diet soda, i don't remember. then later i went back in the middle of the night and i was pretty hungry. i needed some brain food. in the vending machine w/ food stuff was this jumbo hotdog. probably one of the grossest things you could eat but it was calling my name. i contemplated getting it for at least 5 min., checking my back to make sure no one saw me getting it. so i got it. put it in the microwave and preceeded to get reese's peanut butter cups and mini donuts and a diet soda. then i snuck back up to the lab eating my hot dog like i was a 300+ pounder or homer simpson. what a life!!

i was interrupted by cleo growling at me pretty bad while she chewed on this toy. she was growling at the other dogs so i was hitting her on the nose and then i went to take the toy away and she did it to me. so i hit her on the nose so she cried and i threw her off the couch, knocking over water onto the carpet. then jonathan comes and says i can't let her do that, i don't even think he knows she was doing it to me, and how that's how billy got that way. of course i don't want to listen to this from him, don't ya think i know that so i snap at him or something. what am i supposed to do, kill her?

what else can i talk about? i'm stuck here until tuesday morning when i will fly to syracuse. maybe i can clean and organize my room and all that good stuff.

QUOTES

It's better to burp and bear the shame than not to burp and bear the pain.

Grandpa Martin, RIP

Keep your wits about you.

Dr. Wally Cash, DVM

If the present sucks, then look to the future.

RobReed, BadBoy

Well, I want to try everything in life.

Heather Rose Martin, CFG (crazy freak girl)

In the book of life there's only two women, big ol' good ones and good ol' big ones.

Ice Cube, HipHopper

I'd rather have a terrorist standing next to me than a Frenchman. (~15 min. later) Oh, I forgot about that, that's another reason I don't like the French, they eat horses.

Dr. Dee Griffin, DVM

Think about it. Sometimes people are just destined, destined to do, what they do. And that's what it is. Now everybody dance.

Justin Timberlake, Hottie!

Even in medicine, though it is easy to know what honey, wine and hellebore, cautery and surgery are, to know how and to whom and when to apply them so as to effect a cure is no less an undertaking than to be a [veterinarian].

Aristotle, 384-322 BC

Going to Kansas for Vet School is like going to the Special Olympics to play chess.

RobReed, BoyGenius

Now you can either stand around here eatin' jambalaya or you can come upstairs and eat my ass!

Brian Kinney, QAF Hottie!
