monday december 30, 2002
today i'm in boston. i go to the lab in cambridge and talk to dr. h for awhile, filling him in on everything. of course he asks if i have a boyfriend and then says i need one of those guys w/ the big trucks so he can take me to the grocery store. i go to lunch w/ randy and sham to an indian buffet which i've been wating for for a very long time. no indian food in manhattan. i'm wearing a black sweater kinda lowcut and showing cleavage. randy said he was looking and probably sham too which is funny cause sham is a very innocent, or so we think, indian guy who was recently hooked up w/ an indian girl in dc and now they're getting married. maybe if i was indian i'd be married by now. it would all be arranged and the guy would have no choice but to put up w/ my wonderful personality.
i then made it over to the lab in boston where i saw some more people and went to the weekly lab meeting. not too exciting. most people were still on vacation.

i think i went w/ rob reed to cambridge side and bought a few things: banana republic pants & sweater and some perfume. rob reed got some stuff too. oh we also got the car cleaned at dr. detail in preparation for our drive to disney world. then i went to see my electrologist. i've been seeing her for several years and developed a really cool relationship w/ her so not only did i want to go remove a few hairs but also fill her in on everything. that night was the big new years eve thing. rob reed, jenn and i got take out from the cheesecake factory and watched stupid tv. jenn did lots of stuff to prepare for the disney trip since we were leaving the next morning.
wednesday january 1, 2002
we get up and get our stuff ready to leave. i call randy to come over cause he's going to watch billy, the kitties emily and oliver, the turtle bridget and the one fish. he needs to get keys and see how to do everything. then we're off. i drive first and we decide on at least 3 hour shifts. it's going to take about 24 hours to get to disney. so there's a driver, a passenger who's job is to watch the driver so they don't fall asleep and a sleeper in the back seat. it worked well last year.

I love giraffes! I wish I had a pet giraffe and I would name it Mr. Giraffe. One time I had a pet elephant and his name was Loyal. I sent him a letter in The Jungle when I was in undergrad but I don't think it made it there. Loyal was cool! There's nothing better than playing with doggie and kittie poop in Parasitology, except maybe looking at all the dead stuff in necropsy. |
