today wasn't that great. since i was up so late last night i had trouble getting up this morning and then when i did, in the process of showering and trying to towel my hair i smashed my head on the tub and it hurt lots and made me cry! i get pretty worried sometimes when i hit my head cause i've done it so many times and am concussion prone and hydrocephalic and i'm just waiting for that time where i end up brain dead.

got my pathology test back today and was relied to have passed though my grade is nothing to celebrate.

came home to see my dad had called and i didn't want to call him, fearful that he'd tell me my aunt passed away but i called him anyway and though he didn't call with bad news, he did say aunt ursula wasn't doing well and won't be around much longer. she hasn't eaten in weeks and is pretty emaciated i imagine. i feel badly that i haven't seen her since my brother's graduation party last summer. she wasn't at my brother's wedding but did come to a party the weekend before my brother's wedding since she couldn't make the wedding but i was stuck in kansas.

get my parasit test back tomorrow and i'm very scared. i really can't deal w/ a grade worse than last time. please please let me do better than last time and at least pass the test. i'd love to be passing the class going into the final but i'm not so sure that'll happen.

going home now to try and get a good nights sleep so i can stay up late tomorrow night if need be to study for the bacT test one last night. after friday i don't have much until finals so i can't wait to relax a little bit after friday.

i had my bacT lab exam today and it went fine, not much trouble. now i have to study for the lecture exam on friday. after the exam nina and i went to taco bell for lunch though it was 5pm. we didn't get to eat lunch cause we were studying. by the time i got home and settled it was 7pm and i wanted to take a nap so i did. nina ended up calling at 8:40 to say she, rebecca and jen were going to the library so i got up and went as well. while there studying bacT jen was asking us a question and somehow the conversation progressed to her saying that she was told by a junior that i was the smartest person in our class. that is so crazy, i don't know how anyone would think that. jen just joined our class this year cause she has to repeat this semester and so when she was telling this junior, who she didn't know the name of, earlier in the semester who her lab group was, she was told i was the smartest. that sounds just so ridiculous to me it sounds like a cruel joke. obviously my grades this semester suck but last semester i did much better though no where near the top of my class and i still had some difficult moments. i didn't even think any juniors knew who i was. crazy!

anyway those three ended up leaving and i was staying when sam came over to talk and we got into this whole religion thing that was started because the mayor of manhattan, ks was speaking out against homosexual marriage or something. i don't read the paper, watch the news or anything so i have no clue but that's what sam was saying and it turns out sam is against it too and had some strong opinions that i don't at all agree with and then the conversation started on religion and i'm too polite to say 'leave me alone, i'm trying to study' so then it was this whole thing about how i'm atheist and he's not and according to him something must have happened to me to make me not believe in god and there's research, according to sam, that 9 out of 10 homosexuals were molested or something at some point. whether or not that was true, who cares. there's nothing negative in my opinion of homosexuality, for all i know i am and the worst part about that is the people around here are so conservative i couldn't imagine being gay in kansas. i find it even uncomfortable that my friends seem a bit homophobic though i don't think they think that but if i was gay i know they'd have a problem with it and that just creeps me out. guess i'm lucky to come from a place where homosexuality is for the most part (compared to this place) accepted. several of my bestest friends are gay, male and female, and tons of friends/acquaintances that it's no big deal but here we talk about maybe a couple girls in the class might be gay and my girl friends seem disturbed by that. anyway this conversation with sam went on way too long and he had invited me to his christian church where they speak in tongues. why am i always the one open to other peoples opinions and doing things to try and educate myself on the ways of others and not one of those people have an desire to see my side? i have no problem going to this guy's church and seeing what it's all about but i don't think if i was a part of some atheist group thing or whatever he'd make any attempt to check it out. so i wasted some time with this conversation and then sam asked if i'd watch his stuff while he drove his wife home and i said okay thinking it wouldn't take that long but then it was almost 1am before he came back and now i'm so exhausted.

Think about it. Sometimes people are just destined, destined to do, what they do. And that's what it is. Now everybody dance.

Justin Timberlake, Hottie!

Even in medicine, though it is easy to know what honey, wine and hellebore, cautery and surgery are, to know how and to whom and when to apply them so as to effect a cure is no less an undertaking than to be a [veterinarian].
