Does anyone care how my weekend went? I didn't get as much studying done as I would have liked but I don't have an exam this week so I thought I could afford it.
Friday night I went w/ Dan, Rebecca and Nina for a second week in a row to the movie at the Student Union for $2. We saw Love Actually. It was pretty good.
Saturday morning I had to get up early, for a Saturday, 7am, and went to a small animal medicine conference on wound mangagement. The speaker for the day (8-5p) was Dr. Swaim. He was a very enthusiast, entertaining and informative speaker. I couldn't imagine being the sole speaker at a conference and talking for over 6 hours; seems daunting. He had lots of great pictures to go along w/ what he was explaining, for example, phalangeal fillet. After the conference I went to the grocery w/ Nina, home to shower and then to Krista's house for dinner. Krista invited me, Nina, Rebecca and Dan over for dinner. We had burritos, chips, bean dip, etc, watched Star Search, played w/ those light up rainbow swords (hard to explain, i looked for a picture but couldn't find one, Krista bought one for a friend and ended up w/ one case so she gave one to each of us. It's funny to think how long we played w/ those swords!) and also watched The Clinic.
Sunday I got up at 9am because my mother called but I didn't get to the phone in time. I couldn't call her back right away because I had to feed the dogs and when I did call she wasn't around. I spent some time calling back friends and catching up w/ them. I made it to Java by noon but then talked w/ robreed about computer stuff for awhile. I got in about 3 hours of studying but then I had to go home and get ready for the Telefund. The Telefund happens every year where we call alumni and ask for money for our scholarship fund. It wasn't so bad. I won lots of little stuff for getting pledges: 3 Big Macs, a Pizza Hut pizza, a piggy bank, tshirt, lottery ticket, etc. Thanks Mom, Dad and Grandma for pledging!
