I forgot to mention. Tonite James told me of a triathlon happening in my town in June. This is so awesome! I never thought we'd get triathlon in Manhattan, KS. It's a pretty short one. I could do it today though in awful shape. Now i have a reason to get in shape. I know I'm not really supposed to do this type of training but really my neck feels fine now and I'll back off if I start to feel worse.
My new favorite snack is pudding thanks to Rebecca. When I went to her place last weekend for a movie we had pudding for dessert. It's so easy to make. Just mix with milk for 2 minutes and it's ready in 5 minutes. If you use skim milk it's fat free and though it contains sugar it's 100 or so calories for half a cup. I don't drink milk either so this is a great way for me to get my calcium. I haven't bought any candy in about a month. I'll still eat a little bit if it's given to me and also that includes cookies and stuff but I don't go buy bags of candy like I used to and eat them in one sitting. Nina has given up chips and Little Debbie's though yesterday we both almost quit. It's really hard to give up stuff you're so used to indulging in. Anyway the pudding is a great idea for me I think. Better than all the candy. I bought half cup Ziploc containers too so it's easy to pour into servings and put in the frig. Maybe also with this triathlon goal i'll get back into shape.
I'm also having trouble deciding if I will still go to Afrivet. I'm just not sure I have the money. Rebecca is getting all ready to make the plans and I feel like a jerk cause I'm not showing much excitement but it's because I'm just not sure I'm going. I'd lose my $600 deposit but I'd save several thousand dollars by not going. I want to go though so that's why I'm having trouble deciding. I just want to know if I run out of money I'll have somehow to continue with school and life. I called my dad for advice and he said he still thinks I should go and that he'll try and help me out with money if I need it though he doesn't really have any either. When I'm done with vet school I'll owe close to $200,000 so what's another $5000? I really want to go to Africa and yes I can go anytime theoretically in my life but I'm just not sure if I'll get the same experience. I need to ask my roommate, she went last year, how hands on you get with the animals. I think that's the part worth the money. The hands on with the animals we don't have here in the States. robreed told me to make a decision by tonite and that I had one time to change the decision if I wanted on Sunday but regardless I had to have it figured out by Sunday so I can get on with either planning the trip or planning other things this summer. RobReed and Jenn say I shouldn't go. My decision is to go to Afrivet. We'll see Sunday if I have the same opinion.

To answer Jenn's comments: Yes I saw the woman from Massachusetts with the very prominent accent lose on Super Millionaire to the stupid tinkertoys question. Sucks to be her. I also so the guy with the question about how long ago the first lifeform appeared on Earth for $500,000 and he asked the Three Wisemen and they got it wrong and I knew the answer. Stupid!
I wasn't sure how well I did on the second Radiology test so a 91% is fine though I messed up stupid stuff. I'm not sure about my Medicine test or my Clin Path test but I haven't gotten those back yet. I also had one today in Virology which wasn't too bad but I definitely should have gotten an A though I'm not sure. So I have 3 tests I'm waiting for grades on and I'm not sure about any of them though I think I did okay on today's. I have one on Monday in Systemic Path so I have to study all weekend. I couldn't study today because I was exhausted so first thing tomorrow I'll hit the books and same for Sunday.
My water pressure was finally fixed on Tuesday so for a week and a half I wasn't able to take a shower here and had to make other arrangements. I took a couple at Rebecca's and then I started taking them in our locker room at school. The water was hot, the pressure was fine and I didn't have to pay for it so it wasn't so bad. It just wasn't always the most convenient. Now though my water pressure is amazing and the water is hot! I am very happy with the outcome!!!! Life is much better.
There might be a good scandalous story involving Billy Edelin and why he's not playing for the Orangemen. I don't want to say right now cause it's all rumor I heard from my Dad who heard from my Brother so I better keep my mouth shut for now.
My Brother and Hallie are moving to Florida tomorrow. I'll have to give him a call when he gets settled to get the scoop.
I didn't want to tell the following story but it's pretty good so I can't resist. There's a kid in my class that just transferred this semester. He sits in the front row right in front of me, and Rebecca and Nina. He chews. Ya know, the tobacco stuff. So he spits in a bottle or can all day and it's totally gross! I can't stand it. I try not to pay attention but everytime I look up at the screen that's what I see. Nina and I couldn't take it much more so we went to our class president to see if chew was allowed in school. She couldn't find anything about it in the handbook so I went downstairs to one of the admin people to ask her. She didn't know either but said she'd get back to me about it. Meanwhile Calista told us that she was in the library with him and he was spitting in the trash can and blowing straight boogers in there too. So anyway I noticed that on the main doors I walk through everyday to get into the building they say on them "No Smoking, No Chew" so now my question is answered. I went back to the admin person and she went outside with me to see the doors. Then we went to Dr. Elmore, Associate Dean, to fill him in. He said that it wasn't supposed to be allowed and that he would talk to him about it and tell him that he had to sit where it didn't bother anyone or not do it but he thought the latter was unlikely since it's pretty addicting. I told Dr. Elmore to say it in a way that didn't sound like the girl behind him was complaining since I didn't want to get in trouble. So for a couple days I think he was chew free but now he's back full force though he tries to be less noticeable. I guess I've done all I can do. He also likes to pick his fingernails with his pen cap during class and it's one of those things that looks completely painful and gives you the chills. He's asked to borrow pens from Rebecca and I and then we don't want to touch them when he's done. I don't want to sound like a jerk but he just does some pretty gross things. He seems like a pretty nice guy and all so I feel bad saying all this but it's just one of those stories I feel guilty not sharing.
I saw 'Kill Bill' tonite at the Student Union theater. It wasn't bad. I hated 'Pulp Fiction' so I prefer this Tarantino film. Dr. Henrikson, a radiology resident, was there alone so we thought of inviting him to sit with us but didn't. I doubt he knows who we are. He came to anatomy last year to teach us the basics of reading radiographs and I thought he was really hot. Jonathan told me he was kinda a 'player.' It seems now though he isn't as hot as he used to be. I'm not quite sure what happened but I'd still give him a chance. He comes from a huge family of vets and graduated from vet school in '98 and did work in Mass. and Conn. though he's from Kansas. Interesting.
