Al Mac Radio Doc Plans
There's lots of stuff I would like to do in adding Documents about Radio here.
- See Stories Inventory for a kind of check list of things I have started and at one time wanted to do some more work on.
- I want to setup a pre-beginner exploring possibilities tutorial of sorts.
- I can be at some place / office / talking with someone and say ... I can setup a web site for you in 10 minutes, and we can play around with appearance to get what you like, but when I talking with them, I have not memorized the urls of Radio Weblogger Manila etc. and do not have the check lists with me.
- My grand plan is that I would start with a recent e-mail that has my Radio Weblog url, so I walk the person to that site, from my e-mail, or a search engine against my name. There would be a Navigation Link setup at left side of Home page to take us to the story, that has some non-insulting title other than Manila for Dummies, which is also a trademarked name, then that story would have all the links needed for the individual that I am showing to get their first test site established, using the 30 day free trial.
- Then I would show them various Themes, and caution them that Themes can obliterate various changes we might have made, so you either get the Theme you like settled before mucking with other changes, or you accept this risk of losing your changes, or you keep strict notes on what changes you made, or or or ... I want to avoid getting heavy into those choices when the focus is showing someone the possibilities and the fact that you can setup a nice looking site in a matter of minutes.
- Understand series to hopefully focus on various aspects of Radio.
- I wrote Understand Radio News Aggregation shortly after I had been using it a while, so I described the concept for a beginner, then had documentation links for how to implement it, and occasionally add more links.
- I wrote Understand Radio Categories when I was first wrapping my mind around the concept, so the list of things a person needs to learn about, was also introspective.
- I want to do more like this, and continue to tie them together.
- "Understand Multi Author"
- "Understand Link Types" or perhaps "Links Terminology"
- "Understand SF Fandom" explanation for people in other categories
- "Fandom Blogging Proposal" where I have a vision of moving SF Fanzines to Blogging, but first I want to explain each of the technology underpinnings to clarify that this is not Science Fiction.
- "Discussion Game" would be my explanation of games that can be played using the Discussion Group format. We could use Manila or Comments to host various kinds of games. For example play-by-(e)-mail chess moves, in which we spectator what other people doing, not much fun, but I am into Chess Variants. Then as 2 or more players (Chess Variants are not limited to 2 players per game) get a conclusion, their score is posted on a ladder of high score people on top, to be challenged to games by lower scoring people. But Chess is just one game that can be played by Discussion Group, that I am using to illustrate the principle.
- Transition _____ to Radio
- A series that look at the learning curve from the perspective of people coming from _____ computing reality, whose net change surprises may be different from someone coming from a different computing reality.
-
- Radio Misconceptions coming from AOL.
- Radio for people coming from particular OS platform worlds.
-
I think that everyone's e-book documentation could go on a CD Rom, or PDF download, supplied with a Search Engine ... you key in some thing you want to learn, and get links to all the different people who have done documentation on that. This publishing bypasses the traditional places and gets money from the users to the writers, through the sale of CD Rom or downloads. Just have to be very careful to deliver credit and royalties to the right information sources.
- Think News Aggregation model for subscribing to updates to an e-book documentation so you only get links to the portions of the book that got updated. Use a standard of titles, so the subscribers can see which chapters topics involved, and only link to what interests you.
- When I learn how to do Images and Diagrams and Flowcharts in Radio, I want to have a picture of a populated Radio site in which people can left click and right click to get different menus that basically provide the terminology what this is, and links to tutorials how to do whatever. I was inspired for this idea by Pamela's House. Click on any window to see what I mean, then move mouse around to see what else has connections.
