News on News

Finally figured out how to get my news feeds back (Radio-> Radio->Utilities->Import subscriptions). Thank goodness for backups.

I used AmphetaDesk and Feedreader quite a bit while Radio was down, and liked both of them. There is a great skin for AmphetaDesk that turns news into an outline in a very pretty and useful way. Very highly recommended. Feedreader is very fast and simple. I don't know which one I will end up using -- it is obviously suboptimal to be maintaining three subscripion lists.

Tapped

While chasing down some of the news about Bush, I found or rediscovered some good media sources, who are doing what newspapers are supposed to do, reporting the news and raising hell. I recently found The American Prospect, which is sort of a liberal New Republic, covering politics, economics and culture. They put out the Tapped Weblog, a gossipy Washington DC centric source of news, with a partisan edge that is a delight to read. Highly recommended.

Added Joe Jennet's cool randomizer button back I added back Joe Jennet's cool random link button, and I seem to have figured out how to do it without trashing my copy of Radio (I hope).
