MOVIE - FRAILTY - Review Rating $$$$$ $$$ (Out of 10)

This psychological thriller was directed by Bill Paxton, who also stars in the movie alongside Matthew McConaughey. I'm not a big fan of McConaughey but he's good here.

The movie starts with McConaughey's character revealing the identity of the God's Hand serial killer to the FBI agent in charge of the investigation. The rest of the story, as Paul Harvey used to say, is told in flashback mode with McConaughey voicing the narrative.

The young actors in the movie are very credible and give great performances that lend credibility to the family's descent into Helter Skelter dsyfunctionalism.

There are several subtle hints, that portend the inevitable plot twists, that the astute will be able to ascertain.

In many ways this movie's take on family values and faith in God are diametrically opposed to those espoused in "The Rookie". The movie does pull its punch in this regard, in the end, and some may be dissatisfied with the ending.

This is an intelligent and well done movie that owes debts of gratitude to Alfred Hitchcock and the Sixth Sense.
