My Boss's Daughter had been sitting on the shelf gathering dust for almost a year. It should have stayed there. The months of August and February are notorious for their use as dumping grounds for movies that the studios know are crap. The hope is that the lack of other quality films being simultaneously released will increase the box office potential of otherwise really bad films. My Boss's Daughter is so bad that even when its only compared against its weak August competition it still sucks.
Further evidence of how bad the film is can be deduced from the fact that Miramax didn't even bother to create a web site for it.
The only thing positive I can say about the film is that the audience I watched it with had the decency not to laugh at its crude and offensive humour. My Boss's Daughter proves that scraping the bottom of the humour barrel, without more, doesn't guarantee success. The plot, by the way, manages to be stupider than the jokes which, if your an optimist, is quite an accomplishment.
Andy Richter left the Conan O'Brian show for this?
The performances of all concerned, with the exception of Terrance Stamp (real actors have bills to pay too), are just plain bad.
My Boss's Daughter is so dreadful Ashton Kutcher's "15 minutes of fame" clock may have just started ticking. Every cloud has its silver lining.
My Boss's Daughter's only claim to fame is that it's worse than Gigli.
Running time - 86 minutes
