Will Johnston produces Thinkmedia. I have been involved with technology and product development since 1983 when I bought and started programming my first PC. I was a member of the Apple HyperCard development team, founder of the BuyDirectory (among the first consumer search engines), Sr. Product Manager for PDF at Adobe Systems, Sr. Product Manager for Commerce at Inktomi Corporation and one of the earliest users of the WELL and Usenet.

Thinkmedia provides consulting services for the intersection of technology and business.

There is something I don't understand regarding these statistics... 20% of dot-coms failed WHAT!!???? I can only think of a handful that survived. Even the most promising and well funded didn't have the fundamentals in place to sustain growth and show profit.

My wife and I are off to live in Portland, OR this November. After spending the last eighteen years in the Bay Area, it's off to the Grey Area.  We're looking forward to a new life as we have our first child in December.
