  57. <rant> Rap is not music. If all you can do is recite words to a beat, you're not a musician. I don't care if you're rich because millions of mindless drones, who also know nothing about music, purchase your records. William Shatner can recite words to a beat. Get over yourself. </rant>

  68. Designating some crimes as "hate crimes" is stupid. Are we to believe that beatings or murders which are not "hate crimes" are somehow less serious? Having feelings of love, hate, or indifference towards someone as you violate their rights makes no difference. If you think the penalities for a crime are not harsh enough, then change the basic penalty instead of tagging on cutsie little politically-correct enhancements.

Here, for historical purposes, is the original content of this page:

I was born in the early years of the 1950's decade. Living with my wife in northern California in the United States. Previously lived in the southern part of the state. Spent our formative years in New York.

We became empty-nesters in September 2002. Not sure how I feel about that yet.

I was going to write more here, but suddenly don't feel like it. Maybe another time...

This site was prepared as a test of Radio UserLand 8, an inexpensive,  capable, and configurable content management system (CMS).

Why? After all, it isn't that hard to blog by hand. A few things spring immediately to mind:

  • The price is right.
    • $39.95 includes the software, site hosting, and 40 MB storage for a year
    • Try the 30-day free trial
  • News aggregator with convenient two-click subscription to many web logs.
  • Local copy for off-line editing and easy backup
  • I get lazier every day
  • Cool extensible tool
  • It's cute
