Redwood Asylum (emeritus)

...by the inmates...for the inmates...

This is Ginger's Blog Policy, which should not be necessary in this day and age, but is. An interesting starting point.

"Policy Time (Sigh)

I hate policy statements, because they almost always result from an event that annoyed me enough to actually set a policy. So this is a policy statement for my blog, which is subject to amendement at my (dis)pleasure.

Purpose: This weblog is my space for writing about topics of interest to me. I write when, where, and about what interests me. The blog is primarily a forum for my opinions. I do not guarantee that anything you read here will be pleasing to any reader or in agreement with anyone else's views, including my husband's or my mother's. Or yours.

Posts: I edit myself for grammar, spelling, and clarity at my sole discretion without notice. I try to update and acknowledge factual corrections, but am under no obligation to do so.

Links: I try to give correct credit for links, but am under no obligation to do so. Links I provide worked to the best of my knowledge when I put them up, but they may suffer from linkrot, especially as time passes. I do not verify that links remain intact for archived posts.

Comments: I enjoy reading comments, positive and negative, but am under no obligation to allow them on any message.

I am under no obligation to leave comments up. I respond to or delete comments at my sole discretion. My comments section is not a debate forum; I know perfectly good fora where I can get that kind of action if I need it. If you really have to write a response, you can get your own blog.

If a comment(er) annoys me enough, I can and will ban the commenter's IP; I can and will also report abusive or threatening commenters to their providers.

Commenting is authorized use of whiterose.org under the Whiterose.org Use Policy.

Email: Messages to any email address of mine that are about the weblog are considered fair game for publication, although I have honored and will honor requests not to publish messages. I do not always respond to mail, although I may do so if asked.

Spam: I protect addresses left on this site from spambots, but I can't guarantee that spambots won't pick up your address (if you leave an URL, the URL alone should show and you should be safe). If someone spams you after getting your address here, and you can prove they got it from this weblog, let me know and I will put on my admin hat and do the appropriate things.

Other: Despite all the pseudolegalese, this policy is not meant to be snarky, just an explanation of how I run things. If I didn't enjoy having readers and comments and mail, I wouldn't have comments or an email address. On the other hand, I don't feel obliged to supply a forum to rude, annoying twits simply because I have a weblog and a web site. This policy is my attempt to achieve some sort of happy medium between no response and doormatism."
