I've Moved!!
I did the move a few weeks ago but haven't had time to add a post to Radio. I'm now at Weblogs.ASP.NET.
There's a ton of top-notch .NET blogging going on there. You should check it out.
This site will probably stick around for one more year (I'll try and add re-directs as much as possible). I've got most of the sample code ported to the new blog. Buh bye Radio!

The Iraq War
I just listened to President Bush's speech. I moved a little closer to the hawk position, but still haven't crossed the line. We've switched from a country that says "we'll kick your ass, only if you kick ours first" to "we're gonna kick your ass before you can even try to kick ours*" The asterisk is for "that is, unless you already have nukes like North Korea."
That said, looks like we're going to war unless Saddam pulls a miracle out of his hat. I just hope it's short and there's a minimum of casualties on both sides. If Saddam's military is smart, they'll just paint a yellow line to where Saddam is staying and help us guide our bombs in. Knowing how they think, though, they'll probably surround Saddam's palace with a bunch of kids. It's gonna be a messy war. You're gonna see pictures of this one, folks. Get ready for ugly stuff to hit near you.
[The Scobleizer Weblog]
When talks of sending UN inspectors back into Iraq started around 8 - 12 months ago, I was all for it! "Yeah, we'll show 'em what happens if they don't comply this time!", I thought.
But Iraq did something I didn't expect. They actually agreed to let the inspectors in. Granted, based on the report Hans Blix gave on Monday, the Iraqi government hasn't been as helpful as they should, but I was shocked they even let the inspectors back in. Now I've changed my tune a bit. Let the inspectors have a little more time. Let's see if they can really find anything.
If Bush decides he can't wait, there can only be two outcomes of this war:
1) During the war, Saddam Hussein unleashes WMD on our troops. A horrible thought, but would give Bush the opportunity to yell out a big "I told you so!" to the rest of the UN.
2) Once we defeat Iraq (I don't see this not happening once we let our military loose), we'd better find definitive proof and bring in some reporters to show the rest of the world that Iraq really was hiding them.
If neither of these happen, Bush will be in a very difficult position. He'll have a defeated Iraq that needs a lot of aid to get back on its feet. And, quite possibly, a dead Saddam Hussein (at the hands of the US Military?). How will the world view us then?

Where have I been?
Wow. Haven't been blogging for a while. I really haven't spent a whole lot of time around the computer the past month or so -- and it's been very nice! :)
It was probably around the Christmas season (early December) that I started spending less time on the computer and more time with friends and family. Had a great time doing Christmas shopping for the kids this year. They're getting so big so fast. I'm still surprised by the things a 5-year daughter old can come up with. For instance, I was joking with her the other day and said I'd lock her in her room (we were debating how mommy would get her present wrapped without her seeing). Anyway, she quickly shot back with "But how can you lock me in the room if the lock is on the inside?". She had me -- only 5 years old and already sparring with Dad mentally. I love it!
Now if I can just get my 3-year old to sleep through the night without hearing "noises", I'll be in good shape. It's been almost 3 weeks now since she's slept the entire night. She gets up like clockwork around 1:30am and we have a difficult time getting her to sleep. Oh well -- I guess she's letting us practice for the little one that's on the way.

Don't Forget RenderControl!
A tip of that hat to Brad for smacking me upside the head and pointing out the 'RenderControl' method. Don't know why I didn't see that before. I think I was too concerned with answering someones "how do I get to the 'Render' method of a control" question.
Anyway, my sample has been updated. Thanks Brad.
PS: I didn't find this in your RSS feed, but from looking at my referers. Then I noticed I hadn't seen any posts from you in a while (in my aggregator). I unsubscribed and re-subscribed and got the complete list. Radio really is a finicky beast!
UPDATE: I've also fixed my blogroll to point to Brad's correct blog URL (http://dotnetguy.techieswithcats.com/)
