Next post here will be on Saturday, November 15.I am at the eLearning Guild "eLearning Producer" conference in San Francisco for the rest of the week. I may be weblogging the experience at http://egconf2003.blogspot.com, time and technology permitting. Radio only runs on my desktop, I refuse to buy a laptop just to look cool on my one or two trips each year, so I will check in either via my Psion 5MX or from the nearest Internet cafe. 2:24:13 PM |

Announcement. This Weblog is being reorganized. If you are interested in building your own business and operating it from home, this is where you can get tips, best practices, and news you can use. I promise not to waste your time. Subscribers will not be bombarded with ten daily posts (unless there are ten things worth your attention to report). The categories are also being reorganized, to allow for subscription to only those sections of interest to you. Comments and Trackback have been disabled, since the spammers have already moved from clogging e-mail with millions of net jamming junk messages to inserting their ugly effluvia into weblog comments and using Trackback to link the unsuspecting to porn sites and shady solicitations. Email sent to me via the Userland service from this weblog goes to a "throwaway" address, so be patient -- I do still check that address for legitimate communications. Let's get rich together. 9:37:24 AM |

The generosity of Americans is unparalleled. After we published the emergency request from World Vision for the children of Iraq you took action! In the four days following the request, Americans purchased 5,200 units – we will match that number for a grand total of 10,400 thirty-meal packages or 312,000 meals. I hope you know how much of a difference you have made in the lives of these children – thank you. If you haven't already made a personal commitment to feed children and the hungry, I encourage you to take the step today. I have used our family's personal commitment as an opportunity to teach our children about the importance of charity. Click here to make your commitment now to feed children, or make a one-time donation to help the poor through the Franciscan Charities. 10:11:24 PM |

Urgent Call to Feed Iraq I am forwarding this information based on a communication received in email yesterday from an organization with which I am affiliated. Please consider the request thoughtfully, even prayerfully: Charity contacts in the Middle East are looking for ways to meet an urgent need for food in Iraq. This is your opportunity to take some direct action today to relieve misery and suffering. VitaMeal food (see the link below) is designed to meet the nutritional needs of desperate children and their families. Containers are scheduled to go to the Middle East in early April but the order must be filled from our warehouse on April 1st. Our normal contributions are committed to the Global School Feeding Program in Haiti and to Napoleon Dzumbe in Malawi. We must meet this new need with additional donations so that we do not fail to meet existing commitments. Please help respond to this urgent need by purchasing VitaMeal food and donating it, and we will match your donation package for package from now through the last day of March. Please join us in providing life-saving food to the innocent people of this war-torn region of the world. See http://bbrandon.myntcusa.com for details and to donate on line, or call 1-800-487-1144 (sponsor's name is "William Brandon") to make a purchase that will make a difference for someone today. 11:28:33 AM |
Whatever your views on what David Blaine is doing or trying to prove there's no denying that the stunt itself is a spectacle and is pulling in the crowds. I thought I'd stop by as I was in London for the day and was amazed at how many people were here just gazing up at this guy in his box. They wave and he waves back. Meanwhile, somewhere else in the world, another person dies of starvation. I expect that nobody was there to wave them off.
