Faves on November 18, 2002 at 8:37 p.m.: Jonathan Franzen's The Corrections, the satisfaction of finishing a long novel, the ability to renew library books over and over again.  

Peeves on November 18, 2002 at 8:38 p.m.: Christmas commercials weeks before Thanksgiving, the drafty dining room window, overdoing the vegetables

Faves on November 5, 2002 at 12:50 p.m.: "I Voted" stickers, red-tipped leaves, Nantucket chocolate chunk cookies by Pepperidge Farm

Peeves on November 5, 2002 at 12:50 p.m.: the dim and ugly lamp near our reading chair, wasting water, non-voters

Faves on October 9, 2002 at 12:50 p.m.: Creme Caramel yogurt, weekly phone calls from Mom, fleece.

Peeves on October 9, 2002 at 12:50 p.m.: eBay's credit-card verification system, chest-pounding from the war hungry.

Faves on October 3, 2002 at 3 p.m.: The Washington Post's health section, Blueberry Bliss decaf tea, Quicken budgeting software.

Peeves on October 3, 2002 at 3 p.m.: Northern Pipeline's gas contractors, hot humid weather when it's supposed to be Fall, the fact that Verizon's voicemail doesn't have a no-ring option.
